Kristal® Polymeric Hollow Fibre Ultrafiltration Membrane

Uniquely Developed Polymer Hollow Fibre Ultrafiltration Membranes that Ensure Consistent and Strict Filtration

Fully designed and developed by Hyflux, Kristal® polymeric hollow fibre ultrafiltration membranes are specially manufactured using proprietary dry-jet wet-spinning phase inversion technique.

Specially formulated hydrophilic polyethersulfone (PES) or polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) material, uniquely designed asymmetric profile with sponge-like structure, proprietary composite potting technique and an optimised process ensure high permeate flux and quality, and great system recovery. With minimum operating attention, Kristal® can still meet the strictest discharge criteria with ease. Low fouling property of the membrane can also reduce operating cost and plant downtime. You will enjoy a low capital and installation cost with a large membrane area per unit volume at a small footprint.

With the commitment of providing safe drinking water, Kristal® has received the NSF mark of approval: one of a select few ultrafiltration membrane suppliers in the world to receive such recognition. Used in various ground-breaking and award-winning water plant projects, including the world's largest seawater reverse osmosis plant and producing 2 million m3 of permeate water to the RO trains daily, Kristal® has been recognised yet again for its excellent filtration quality and operational stability. NSF is an independent, non-profit, global organisation committed to public health and safety. It is also an internationally recognised standard for food, water and consumer goods, especially in North America.

Kristal® membranes have wide-ranging applications such as water treatment/purification, pretreatment filtration, wastewater recycling and industrial process/waste fluid treatment. These membranes have been installed in both the world’s largest membrane-based seawater desalination plant (in Magtaa, Algeria) and China’s largest such plant in Tianjin.  With the latest addition of the Kristal® tri-bore series to the Kristal® membrane family, more challenging and extreme water treatment conditions can now be overcome. The above is proof of Hyflux’s fervent spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship
